Australia Day 26th January 2009
Australia Day, celebrated on 26 January, is a national day of celebration when people around the country join together to celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian.Here in Queensland, South Bank Parklands is the setting for the huge celebration in Brisbane and right across the state various venues will host their own special events. In 2009 Australia Day falls on a Monday and as usual this public holiday will be jam packed with a wide variety of activities and entertainment. Spectacular fireworks, lunches, thong throwing competitions, BBQ's, children's entertainment, concerts and walks are all expected to be part of the 2009 celebrations across the state.

Billy Joel - Boondall Entertainment Centre 4th Dec
Fans of the piano man prepare yourselves! The Frontier Touring Company welcomes back Billy Joel to Australia and New Zealand this November and December for a limited run of concerts. Billy will take to the stage in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney and - for the first time in 10 years will also play shows in Auckland and Adelaide.
