There is an average of 46 race meetings per year, consisting of 24 Saturdays, 2 Public Holidays and 20 Midweek meetings. Doomben has always attracted the best of Australian racehorses, some of international acclaim, including Bernborough and Strawberry Road.
Eagle Farm Racecourse is the largest capacity racecourse in Queensland, hosting no less that 40 race meetings each season. The highlight of the racing calendar is certainly the Queensland Winter Carnival in June, which encompasses the state's finest social and fashion events and of course, the state's most prestigious racing with feature races including AAMI Stradbroke, BMW Queensland Derby, Conrad Treasury Brisbane Cup and the T.J. Smith.
